The foliage will start changing, football will be in full swing and farms in Massachusetts will prepare for their seasonal visitors. 

There are plenty of farms out in Western Massachusetts to check out, but what about something closer to home?

Here are a few suggestions on farms to check out with family, friends and loved ones that are less than an hour drive from Boston.

1. Brooksby FarmPeabody

This place has a little of everything. Their 'Pick Your Own Fruits' selection consists of strawberries, raspberries, apples & more! They also have their own bakery and barnyard animals! 

2. Conors Farm, Danvers
Estimated arrival time from Boston: 30 minutes

"Activities include corn maze, hayrides, cow train, jumping pillow, farm animals, pedal carts. Barbecue pit and corn crib (weekends only), country kitchen with ice cream, apple crisp, cider donuts, fudge, caramel apples!" Currently, guests can pick their own apples, raspberries & blackberries. 

3. Belkin Family Lookout Farm, South Natick
Estimated arrival time from Boston: 31 minutes

Belkin Family Lookout Farm has an amazing array of apples! From Ginger Gold to Macintosh to Honey Crisp, they have it! While you're there, feel free to check out the train rides, farm animals and live entertainment!
