Posted by Tara Peterson on Sat, Jun 12, 2010

Boston's 40th pride parade is TODAY! The parade is heartily enodrsed by Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, Gov. Deval PAtrick and give or take 12,000 marchers and more than half a million spectators. (This was last years estimate).

Mainstream sponsors include Macy's, historic Faneuil Hall Marketplace and Boston's Convention and Visitors Bureau.

A pride festival on City Hall Plaza starts at noon as the parade begins in the South End on Tremont Street at Clarendon. It ends at City Hall around 3pm

A noon City Hall Plaza flag raising will be June 4. Pride day at Faneuil Hall is June 5. A tea dance for seniors is June 6 in Brookline. June 10 has a 7 p.m. rally on Boston Common. The week includes block parties and other events.
