Posted by Hillary Waldron on Mon, Nov 11, 2013

Fenway ParkIn honor of Veteran's Day, the Boston Red Sox will be offering free Fenway Park tours to all veterans and active members of the military today.

Tour hours will be from 10am-5pm with start at the top of every hour. The tours will offer insight on one of American's most beloved ballpark and the Red Sox players. Now is a particularly exciting time to visit the ballpark due to the recent 2013 World Series win over the St. Louis Cardinals.

"Veterans and active members will be able to pick up their tickets at the Gate D ticket booth, which is on the corner of Yawkey Way and Van Ness Street, and they will be asked to show their military identification to redeem their free tour ticket."

veteran's day

Veteran's Day is a chance to honor and give thanks to all the men and women who have served in our nation's military. Here are a list of some of the events going on in the Boston area.

Annual Veterans Day Appreciation Dinner
The Annual Veterans Day Appreciation Dinner will be in Natick on November 11th at 6:00pm at the Natick Community Senior Center. The event is sponsored by the Town of Natick, Natick Soldier Systems Center, Natick Veterans Council, and police and fire unions. All veterans, active duty service members, and their families are invited. RSVP to veterans@natickma.org.

Veteran’s Day Offer
This Veterans Day, the Prudential Center’s California Pizza Kitchen and Boston Duck Tours are joining forces to offer those who currently serve or have served in the United States’ military service a complimentary meal and tour. As a small way of saying thanks for the tremendous commitment, sacrifice, and heroism that the service men and women have shown, members of the United States military can enjoy any pizza from California Pizza Kitchen’s menu, along with a non-alcoholic beverage (dine-in only) on Sunday, November 11th (Veterans Day) or Monday, November 12th when they show military ID or other proof of service or if they visit the restaurant in uniform.

Boston Veteran's Day Parades
The Boston Veteran's Day Parade kick off at 1pm on Monday, November 11, 2013 at the corner of Boylston and Tremont Streets, and wind their ways along Boston Common and on to City Hall Plaza and Faneuil Hall, where you can hear a variety of speeches and music and pay tribute to servicemen and women.

There will also be a Veterans for Peace Parade following the first parade.
