Nowruz 2015: The Persian New Year Festival at the MFA

Learn about Nowruz traditions 

Observe a traditional Haft Seen, a Nowruz holiday table; purchase Persian-inspired food at Taste Café; enjoy musical and dance performances by renowned dancer and choreographer Banafsheh Sayyad. 

Explore Persian art and culture 
Go on a thematic tour in the Ancient Near East gallery with Lawrence Berman, Norma Jean Calderwood Senior Curator of Ancient Egyptian, Nubian, and Near Eastern Art; join a 10-minute Spotlight Talk highlighting Persian art. 

Discover the ancient civilization of Persepolis 
View paintings depicting this ancient city by local artist and educator Hengameh Taraz; hear author Reza Zarghamee discuss the history of Persepolis and its influences on contemporary civilization. 

This event will be held on March 21, 2015, from 10:00 am – 4:45 pm

The Boston Flower and Garden Show 2015 brings spring to the city for 5 days in March (March 11-15) at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston.

With over 25 unique garden displays,this event is the best and biggest flower show in the city. Along with the beautiful flower displays, you can view award-winning flower arrangements, learn from numerous presentations and demonstrations throughout the day, and explore the wide array of garden, culinary, landscaping, building, and decorative objects on sale by vendors.

"Drink Craft Beer Springfest focuses on New England-made beers that feature one of our favorite ingredients, hops! By attending, you’ll be able to sample 70+ beers from 25 of New England’s best craft brewers, each one of them bringing at least one hop-focused brew! Many of these are being made specifically for this event or will be released there. Additionally, you can sample and purchase from several local food vendors including Drink Craft Beer friends such as Roxy's Grilled Cheese, of Great Food Truck Race fame and known for their delicious gourmet concoctions perfect to pair with hoppy beers.
