museum of fine artsThe 13th Annual Boston Turkish Film & Music Festival is going on now at the Museum of Fine Arts until April 26th.  

"The festival invites you to enjoy a rich program of 20 films, continuing its tradition of highlighting contemporary Turkish cinema and Turkish filmmakers. We are proud to present you North America and U.S. premieres of many films in our program. We are also delighted to announce that the 2014 Boston Turkish Film Festival Award for Excellence in Turkish Cinema recipient is acclaimed director Reis Çelik."

The festival will also feature musicians Tanin Trio, Aysegul Durakoğlu and Cem Duruöz.

John Singer Sargent Watercolors at MFA

John Singer Sargent Watercolors are now at the Museum of Fine Arts until mid January 2014.museum of fine arts 

"Presenting more than 90 of Sargent’s dazzling works, this exhibition, co-organized with the Brooklyn Museum, combines for the first time the two most significant collections of watercolor paintings by John Singer Sargent (1856–1925), images created by a consummate artist with daring compositional strategies and a complex technique. 

'John Singer Sargent Watercolors' offers visitors an unprecedented opportunity to view the magnificent works Sargent produced between 1902 and 1911, when he was at the height of his artistic powers and internationally recognized as the greatest American painter of his age. "

365 things to do in boston, valentine's day, museum of fine arts, the fenway, heartbeat concertIf you want to dial it down a notch this Valentine's Day check out Heartbeat at the MFA tomorrow, Thursday February 14th from 6p-8pm. A team of New England Conservatory students have banded together to take back Valentine’s Day—replacing greeting cards, stale chocolates, and overpriced roses with new music, a new way to experience the museum’s collection, and maybe make a few new friends. Take off your rose-colored glasses and soak in images and sounds from classic to cutting edge. The concert will include performances that pair music with objects from the museum that capture love’s many shades.
