Posted by Katie Beth Clark on Fri, Jul 27, 2012

Tonight and Tomorrow at 9PM - the Dogmatics (and other legendary Boston bands) are bringing it back and playing Johnny D's in Somerville for more than just a jammin time. They are going to be rockin' and raising money to support cancer victims. The money is being raised to support the Pan-Mass Challenge.365 Things to do in Boston dogmatics

"A time travel experiment last year proved so effective that once again Boston rock giants of the 80s and 90s are reuniting on stage. Jerry Lehane of the legendary Dogmatics, inspired to help out in the fight against cancer, has reached out to Boston musicians to present two nights of music as a benefit to those in need and the community has rallied for two benefit shows.

The shows will be held at Johnny D’s Uptown Restaurant and Music Club in Somerville and mc'd by the charismatic Patrick McGrath. Appearing Friday night are The Flies, Bristols, Piranha Brothers, Sourpuss and the Hired Men. Appearing Saturday night are Dogmatics, New Frustrations,White Dynomite, Lucky 88's, and Lenny Lashley. The members of these bands have appeared in 21645, Scruffy the Cat, The Upper Crust, Titanics, Neats, Lyres, Turbines, DYS, Darkbuster, Matweeds, Darlings, the Piss Poor Boys, Classic Ruins, and Shaggahs -- to name a few. The exciting news for Boston rock fans is the reunion of Homestead recording artists, The Flies, featuring Nat Freedberg on lead vocals and guitar (Freedberg went on to find further success with Titanics and the Upper Crust.) In addition, The Dogmatics, legendary fixtures of the 80s Kenmore Square rock scene, are also reuniting for the benefit."

Now you can't tell me that doesn't sound tempting... so grab your dancin' shoes and head on over to Johnny D's tonight! And why didn't I post this sooner? Because I KNOW you don't plan ahead. I don't wanna hear it... Click here for more details! Or here to pre-purchse tickets!
