Oysters and Craft Brews Cruise

Posted by Susie Callahan on Sun, Jul 12, 2015

"Slurp fresh New England oysters and sip on local craft beers as you take in the sights of Boston Harbor on this sunset cruise from Karma Crew Yacht Charters. This cruise will be done retro-style, on a 1948 vintage motor yacht, which includes five intimate and unique gathering areas for you to mingle and move around.

East Boston Oysters will be shucking fresh oysters and there will be a selection of craft brews from Jacks Abby and Dogfish Head, samples of which are included in your admission. Wine and mixed drinks will also be available to purchase from a cash bar and before you know it, you'll be sailing past the USS Constitution for sunset views and a cannon shot. "

Enjoy Suffolk Downs One Last Time

Posted by Hillary Waldron on Tue, Sep 16, 2014

suffolkAs some of you know, Mohegan Sun and Suffolk Downs lost the casino vote to the Wynn and shortly after the announcement, Suffolk Down released a statement that they will be closing.

Now personally, I've never been to Suffolk Downs, but I still consider the Suffolk Downs an landmark establishment in East Boston and will be sad to see this place go.

According to the Suffolk Downs website, there are still races scheduled until the end of September every Monday, Wednesday & Saturday. Check out all the fun and excitment of the track with your friends and family before the gates close for good!

Suffolk Downs opened its facility over 75 years ago and is/was the last thoroughbred track in New England.

Check Out Pier's Park in Eastie

Posted by Hillary Waldron on Thu, Aug 01, 2013

Pier's Park
This hidden gem is home to some of the most spectacular views of the Downtown Boston Skyline and the Seaport District.  Pier's Park is located directly across the inner harbor from Downtown Boston and is a approximately a nine minute walk from the Maverick Blue Line Station (3 T Stops from Gvt. Center) in the Jeffries Point Neighborhood.
pier's park
With two large pavilions, four smaller pavilions and an impressively landscaped wharf jutting out into the harbor, this is a wonderful place to take family and friends. This park also features the Piers Park Sailing Center which is one of Boston's most accommodating options for sailing . The park and sailing center will soon be a neighbor to some impressive new real estate developments on the East Boston Waterfront. You will not be disappointed by the views!

Make a day or night of it and grab a bite at one East Boston's famous American Italian eateries like Santarpio, Jeveli's or Rino's. There are numerous fantastic restaurants within the Jeffries Point area and neighboring Eagle Hill Neighborhood of East Boston.

Run to the Beat, Boston!!

Posted by Katie Beth Clark on Sat, Sep 15, 2012

265 things to do in Boston 5K run to the beatSo if you are anything like me, when you hear music your shoulders just start shaking. Yes, I know, this sounds weird- BUT I'M BEING COMPLETELY HONEST! So basically what i'm getting at is that this is seriously my dream event in Boston. Run to the Beat presented by Zumix and Massport is Boston's most scenic 5K! And whatever you do, don't bring your IPOD because whether it's Jay-Z, ACDC, Britney, or the sound of everyone breathing way too hard, we all run to the beat.

This is like unreal, wicked awesome too me. I'll never forget when the IPOD first came out and I didn't have one- I use to make my friend follow me in my car as I ran through my neighborhood, blaring my favorite songs. (I know, I was a crazy kid) Well everyone, it's my time to take a blast to the past, so you know I will be there! It's tomorrow so hurry and sign up- and don't forget your costume!! (Yes, they are being very Halloween festive in September but hey, who doesn't like costumes?)
