Shakespeare on the Common is back from July 6th-28th! This year the performance will be "The Two Gentlemen of Verona" directed by Steve Maler.
"'Two Gents' tells the tale of two friends who leave their hometown of Verona to find their happy fortunes in Milan. Instead, they find temptation, trickery, and trouble as they vie for favor with the high-society Duke... and his debutante daughter. All are drawn into a web of disguise and secrecy where the last thing anyone wants is for the truth to surface -- least of all the dog."
Shakespeare on the Common has been an 18 year tradition that has drawn decent size crowds through the years. This year, the Commonwealth Shakespeare Company is dedicating the event to Mayor Menino and his wife to thank them for their support in the theatre community.
