#619 Gob Squad's Kitchen (You've Never Had It So Good)

Posted by Tara Peterson on Fri, Jan 13, 2012

gopsquadAndy Warhol’s haphazard short film Kitchen epitomized life at his famed Factory. Featuring Edie Sedgwick in her signature charmingly stuporous state, the directionless, no-budget film told no story and had no script (at least no script with lines Edie could recall). Tonight the Gob Squad, an avant-garde troupe of UK and German actors, recreate the film — live onstage — through pointedly bewildered acting and movie clips in Gob Squad’s Kitchen. Throughout the performance, Squad members seemingly lose interest, pulling members of the audience into the debacle as actors and conspirators. The immersive experience runs for three nights only.
