The Gloucester Garden Tour will be on Saturday July 13 between 10 AM and 4 PM. This is a
self guided tour that will showcase the beauty of various flowers and plants. The profits will benefit the plantings in the Fishermen’s Wives Memorial and the new HarborWalk Butterfly Gardens. Tickets are $20 before July 4th and $25 after and can be picked up at the beginning of the tour.
"Start at exit 12 off Route 128 North. Gardens one through five, with lovely views of the confluence of the Annisquam and Little River, are accessible from this point and parking is available at Grand Banks as well as along Biskie Point Road. Garden number six, in West Gloucester, is the fabulous garden of Hillarie Holdsworth which was featured in 2012 in the Boston Globe Magazine. Parking for the Holdsworth garden is available along Walker Street and in a field next to the property. Gardens seven through ten are located along the Stacy Boulevard with parking at Stage Fort Park. The Elizabeth Gordon Smith Park, Picture Garden and Perennial Gardens are easily accessed on foot or by trolley with a flag stop at the Fishermen’s Wives Memorial. The trolley also stops at the Harborwalk Butterfly Gardens, garden eleven, along the harbor. Kim Smith, designer of the Butterfly Gardens will be speaking and conducting tours of the Butterfly Gardens at 1:00PM and 2:00 PM starting at St. Peter’s Park. Lunch is available at local restaurants."
