turkish festivalThe 18th Annual Boston Turkish Festival is being celebrated now until December 15, 2013.

"Since its inception in 1996, this unique festival lasts more than a month and it is one of the largest of its kind in the U.S. The Festival theme, 'Colors of Anatolia', reflects the diversity and richness of Turkish culture, ranging from art exhibits, workshops, gastronomic presentations and concerts to Turkish cinema."

Right now, visitors can enjoy the art exhibition "Turuoise Dream: A Journey To The Aegean" at the Howard Thurman Center at Boston University. The artist, Gizem Saka, took inspiration from her hometown of Istanbul and painted bold and colorful works of art. These paintings will be on display at Boston University until December 15th. The gallery is open to the public during the Howard Thurman Center operating hours.

There are also upcoming events including the Isail Hakki Fencioglu & Group Shtreiml: Jewish Roots and Turkish Blues concert at the Goethe-institut Boston and a documentary and short film competition at the Museum of Fine Arts
